There’s something about a Scorpio full moon that demands your full attention. It’s not a polite, insightful full moon, it’s a bloodletting. An exorcism. Don’t be surprised if you crawl down the stairs backwards, and yell “And your God permits this!!”
Our deepest truths can be ugly. And that’s what this moon is really about; truth. The raw, sticky kind you’ve been holding at arm's length. The truth about what’s been possessing you. What’s ready to die in your life. What you’re done pretending is fine.
Why Now?
Scorpio (ruled by Mars and Pluto if you’re feeling modern) is fixed water. Intense, emotional, and exquisitely private, it governs death, sex, money, obsession, grief, power, and transformation. You know, the easy things. When the moon’s in Scorpio (and especially when it's full) the veil thins. We see what we usually keep buried. Emotional Xrays. Soul autopsies. The psychic junk drawer dumped onto the table.
And if that sounds heavy, it is. But it’s also holy. This lunation asks you to choose truth over comfort. Authentic power over performance. Surrender over control. And honestly, that might mean laying on the bathroom floor tonight, whispering prayers you haven’t even admitted you needed. Or writing a letter you’ll never send. Or naming something as dead, even if it still looks alive on paper. Or the other way around.
A moon for letting go
We’re invited (initiated) into releasing what’s been holding power over us. Not because we’re “healed” or even done with it, but because we’ve outgrown the version of ourselves that really, really needed it. Some questions to ask yourself under this Scorpio Full Moon:
𓆝 What emotional contracts have I outgrown?
𓆞 Who or what am I still energetically entangled with that I’d rather not be?
𓆟 What would it take to live with nothing hidden, not even from myself?
You’re allowed to grieve. You’re allowed to feel rage, erotic hunger, confusion, numbness. All of it is part of the shedding. And Scorpio never flinches at your full intensity. It wants it. Let this moon be your permission to feel without censoring.
Tarot journaling prompts
This seven-card series of prompts is a mirror and a ritual. Pull cards one by one and write your responses in your journal; slowly, honestly, and without rushing toward meaning-making and resolution.
1. What truth am I resisting?
What have I buried too deep to admit even to myself?
2. What must I release to reclaim my power?
What person pattern fantasy or fixation has kept me small?
3. What sacred rage or grief is asking to be felt?
How can I let this energy move through me rather than own me?
4. What am I afraid to desire?
What longing have I exiled in order to feel safe or acceptable?
5. What transformation is underway, seen or unseen?
Name the threshold. Acknowledge the death and the rebirth.
6. What devotion is emerging from this process?
What promise am I ready to make to myself from this new place?
7. What part of me is rising from the ashes stronger than before?
Give it a name. A shape. A place in your life.
More Ritual Suggestions
꩜ Play my Scorpio Full Moon Apocalypse playlist!
꩜ Let your body weep it out. I want to see snot.
꩜ Burn a list of what you're releasing; cut the cords with compassion.
꩜ Dance like a old forest witch.
꩜ Write the messiest, most chaotic poem the world has ever known.
Mostly, let it be a night of alchemy, not aesthetics. A night to remember that you are not broken for feeling too much. You are not “behind” for still processing what happened years ago. You are not weak for needing ceremony to access your deeper truths. You are the altar and the offering. The one shedding, and one becoming. The one who survives themself again and again and again.
Stay tender. Stay true. And let this full moon show you the power of your own honesty.
In the dark with you,
Jerico x
This moon has rung me out, trolled me from a different timeline, and showed me ways I reject joy out of fear things will always suck. I swear I held my breath for 4 days straight.
Truth over comfort FOR SURE!
